Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is a boys yeshiva high school combining Jewish learning with academic excellence.
The mission at Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is to develop boys into young men who are committed to a life led by Torah values. To provide students with excellence in Limudei Kodesh and in secular studies so they will have the requisite skills to be admitted to yeshivas and/or colleges of their choice. Students will learn in an environment that will inspire them to be passionate and sincere about learning and about Yiddishkeit. Derech Eretz and middos are at the core of all learning.

Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael features a deeply engaging Limudei Kodesh program where students learn with passion and clarity. Guided by dedicated rebbeim, students are taught the skills to independently learn Gemara. Our growth‑oriented ethos means each student is supported to reach his personal best. Night seder and learning programs outside the regular Yeshiva schedule encourage students to excel in their Gemara learning.

Our general studies program is robust and skill-oriented, with AP courses available and personalized support for all learners. We emphasize both academic excellence and readiness for college and career, encouraging independence and critical thinking in every subject.

YOY’s dorm program, launched in 2025–26, offers a home away from home for students from across the U.S. It’s overseen by Rabbi Reuven Sebbag, our caring and experienced dorm mashgiach, ensuring a warm, supportive, and structured environment.

YOY is ideal for growth-minded young men who value Torah, character, and academics. With a low student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 2:1, we offer individualized guidance and support. All of our graduates go on to attend Yeshiva, and many continue to college or university, reflecting a strong academic foundation paired with spiritual growth.
