FAQs
-
At The Rashi School, we actively work to cultivate a student population that reflects the richness and diversity of the Greater Boston Jewish community. We represent all ethnic, racial and gender identities, as well as a wide range of socioeconomic strata. We are Jews by birth or adoption, and Jews by choice. We are Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, Reconstructionist, and unaffiliated. We are non-Jews partnered with Jews and raising Jewish children. We are a welcoming and inclusive community that truly sees the value in all people.

More than 90% of Rashi graduates matriculate to their first-choice secondary school. High schools welcome our students with enthusiasm, knowing that they are well-prepared academically and socially. And when Rashi alumni are ready for college, they attend some of the most selective institutions in the country.
About ⅓ of Rashi graduates attend their local public high school, ⅓ attend Gann Academy, and the final third attend competitive, secular high schools in the Greater Boston area and beyond. -
Rashi shares a 162-acre wooded campus with Hebrew Senior Life’s NewBridge on the Charles, enriching the student experience with multigenerational programming and perspectives.
Students learn about the lived experiences of NewBridge residents — their stories, their families, and their day-to-day lives.
The relationship is reciprocal. NewBridge residents frequent the Rashi building. You might find them reading "Blueberries for Sal" to a Kindergartener, modeling how to calculate circumference of a shape in a math class, or leading an art activity. -
Yes - a hot and healthy lunch made in-house at Rashi each and every day is included in tuition!
In partnership with our new outsourced food vendor, CulinArt, children will choose a kosher-style meal on a daily basis that includes a variety of choices, such as a hot entree option, sandwich of the day, and salad bar. -
Rashi takes a child-centered, skills-based approach rooted in Jewish values. Our students study Jewish texts, values and concepts in academically rigorous learning environments. We use Jewish teachings to question, explore and understand the world around us. Children learn to see the world through a Jewish lens, becoming proud and knowledgeable Jews with strong Jewish identities.
