We describe Schechter as an intentional community—a thoughtful, inclusive approach to Jewish life that honors both individuality and shared connection.

Our families come to Schechter through multiple pathways, and each one is welcomed and celebrated. At the same time, we are one community. And for a community to thrive, we need shared norms—communal standards that everyone takes part in. These aren’t about sameness. They’re about creating a common language that reflects the diversity within our school and helps us grow together.

We often say that Jewish life at Schechter should be both a mirror and a window: a mirror so students can see their own family’s traditions reflected at school, and a window so they can explore and appreciate practices that may be new to them.

Yes! Our middle school teams regularly compete against other independent and Jewish day schools in the greater Boston area. Students experience the excitement of interscholastic play while building teamwork, resilience, and school spirit.

Yes! Schechter offers transportation options to help families manage daily logistics with ease for students in Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 8.

Yes! Schechter employs a team of Learning Specialists to meet the academic needs of students. Our Learning Specialists come to Schechter with a wealth of special education experience - both in public and private settings - and training in many different academic and executive functioning programs. We also have Learning Specialists in both buildings who are trained in a variety of literacy interventions. Schechter Boston also has Hebrew Learning Specialists at both campuses, who provide foundational instruction and remedial Hebrew support
